Supporting Student Involvement at #AP2018conf

Students … this is a conference for you! Given that all the major players in animal production will be at Animal Production 2018, it’s your chance to network and meet potential future employers.

There are a number of ways that the Australian Society of Animal Production is supporting the development of students at Animal Production 2018. Here\’s how …

Student Snapshot
Student Snapshot – it’s back!! There’s a full plenary session dedicated to student presenters to participate in the competitive three minute Student Snapshot. The Student Snapshot session is a research communication competition that challenges HDR students to communicate the significance of their projects without the use of props or industry jargon, in just three minutes.

Simply submit a 1-page extended abstract and select “student oral” on the submission form to be in the running to present at Animal Production 2018. Students who are selected to present in the Student Snapshot will be in the running for a share in the prize money.

Student Poster

Students are invited to engage conference delegates through presentation of a poster. Students will be supported with multiple opportunities to informally discuss their content with delegates including at the Poster Networking Hour. Simply submit a 1-page extended abstract and select “student poster” on the submission form to be in the running to prepare a poster for Animal Production 2018. Please visit the conference submissions page for more information.

Student Masterclass

All students who register to attend the conference will be invited to the Student Masterclass as part of their registration fee. The Student Masterclass is a career professional development workshop with topics including career pathways and case studies, marketing your brand and tips for researchers. Students will gather together on Sunday afternoon prior to the conference to gain valuable skills and network over dinner.
